* INIGO Introduction :)

Who is Inigo?

Inigo is a fully voiced khajiit adventuring companion with thousands of lines of unique dialogue. He's essential. He’ll level alongside you. He’ll avoid most traps. If you’re sneaking he won’t chatter. If you talk to him while sneaking he’ll whisper. He can run out of arrows. He’s highly skilled in archery, one-handed, and sneak. He has unique, random combat dialogue for most enemies. Your morality is his morality. He tells stories, sings, and is influenced by your time together.

PLEASE NOTE: Although Smartbluecat is a member on this forum, he would GREATLY appreciate it if you could please report any issues you have with Inigo

on the relevant Oldrim/SE Nexus 'Posts' pages (after carefully checking the FAQ first). You will find support there. Redirect links below.

Issues reported via pm will possibly go unanswered due to how EXCEPTIONALLY busy he is.

The more people who don't read the documentation and ask SBC to personally solve their issues, the longer V3 will take ;)

Thank you all for your co-operation. :)

  • OK, so I decided to play Skyrim today as I haven't played in MONTHS... but I have played since February - which Skyrim (SE) thought I had last played. AND it was a super old save and super old character.

I look for my saved games using the quick access version of "Documents" (which, since the creator's update now force syncs with onedrive) and I panic when the last save was back in February. (before I had even heard of INIGO) - yes that would make ANYONE panic!

Anyway, after calming down and actually looking into it... I found this.

Since the creators update we have a new file location which stores itself also on onedrive.

    This PC\Documents\My Games\blah blah blah

This does NOT have the most recent saved games in it.

What you need to do is go to:

C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games\blah blah blah and you will find the PROPER files

Why windows has decided to sync super old files and give us two locations that SEEM to be the same, but really are not, I have no idea.

What am I doing to fix this bork?

I am currently moving over my proper Skyrim folder (which also contains my proper Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini too) and putting it in this stupid new location that windows is FORCING (It cannot be changed) Skyrim (and Fallout 4 actually) to save the files into.

Done, and "whatdya know?!" I now have all my saves from all my characters, not just my character played way back in February!

*grumbles and curses at damn Microsoft, Windows and the Windows 10 Creators Update!*

At least I think I've fixed the problem now :)

Edit: Which also explains why Nexus Mod Manager claimed that there was no skyrim prefs.ini - there wasn't because windows had not synced it. It also did the same for fallout, so the same thing needs to be done for that too - copying the files across to update the folder that windows is now using instead.

    HOW STUPID?!

  • Interesting!  Are you signed up to get the updates in advance, or have they gone live with the Creator's Update?

(Edit:  I am confused.  I am running 1703, and some of the developers builds with the DX9 fix were listed as 16xx, but the Fall Creators Update hasn't gone live yet, from what I can find.  Meh.)

I wonder what it does when you have never signed up for OneDrive, and have avoided it like the plague?  (I prefer my clouds full of water vapor.)  I guess I will find out as soon as I try to play...

I have actually been looking forward to the big Fall update, as it is supposed to fix the Win 10/DX9 memory usage problem, so people running Oldrim under Win 10 can finally use all of their resources properly!  However, I know there was a problem with earlier (alpha) versions of it that it broke Mod Organizer.  That might have something to do with changing the location of the saves/inis.  You use NMM, and managed to get that working with moving the files over, right?  We need someone with MO to test it out.

  • Yes, My saves are back and all is working as it should. Daft eh?

I don't know about the update, I got a message to ask me if I wanted to install it, so I did. I'm not signed up to pre-releases though I DON'T THINK...

    I'll have a look in a bit.

    Thank you :)

  • Ah, the difference between version number, and build number.  Got it.
I am on version 1703, build 15063.608.  And I am not having that problem with it saving things to a different location, so it must have to do with OneDrive, which I immediately murder every time it tries to come back in an update.  :P  So while you are on the "Creator's Update", you do not yet have the "Fall Creator's Update", which will be the one with the DX9 fix in it.

  • There are lots of updates, most of them are smaller and less fundamental then the BIG Fall Update will be.  Mine was updated just two or three days ago as well, thus my confusion, but that clearly wasn't the Fall Creator's Update.  *shrugs*
