* INIGO Introduction :)

Who is Inigo?

Inigo is a fully voiced khajiit adventuring companion with thousands of lines of unique dialogue. He's essential. He’ll level alongside you. He’ll avoid most traps. If you’re sneaking he won’t chatter. If you talk to him while sneaking he’ll whisper. He can run out of arrows. He’s highly skilled in archery, one-handed, and sneak. He has unique, random combat dialogue for most enemies. Your morality is his morality. He tells stories, sings, and is influenced by your time together.

PLEASE NOTE: Although Smartbluecat is a member on this forum, he would GREATLY appreciate it if you could please report any issues you have with Inigo

on the relevant Oldrim/SE Nexus 'Posts' pages (after carefully checking the FAQ first). You will find support there. Redirect links below.

Issues reported via pm will possibly go unanswered due to how EXCEPTIONALLY busy he is.

The more people who don't read the documentation and ask SBC to personally solve their issues, the longer V3 will take ;)

Thank you all for your co-operation. :)

Potential Playthroughs, Builds and Backstories / Maximilian Orzhov
« Last post by Onichu on Sun, 18 Feb 2018 - 05:13:12 »
In the Ravnica block (or series of “sets”) of the card game “Magic the Gathering,” the Orzhov Syndicate embodied Black and White mana (many apologies for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about). This particular pairing—the duality of two seemingly antithetical colors—is a contributing factor to the development of the Skyrim character in question: Maximilian Orzhov.

Maximilian Orzhov was an Altmer born in the Summerset Isles. His family were all shrewd businesspeople, who would often use underhanded tactics to get ahead. And while Maximilian did learn many useful things about the art, he did not fully share his family’s enthusiasm.
No, what really fascinated the young Altmer was the nature of conflict, of opposition. Good and evil, light and dark, hot and cold—such contradictions kept him up at night. He could not help but puzzle over these things, pondering questions such as, “Why does the world have both daytime and nighttime?” or “What makes something good and its opposite evil?” Additionally, certain Daedric Princes, such as Azura and Sheogorath—Sheogorath especially—gained his greatest interest.
Then, sometime after Maximilian’s 17th birthday, the Oblivion Crisis came to the Isles. In his eyes, it was the greatest clash of good and evil he had ever been exposed to—and there he was, witnessing it firsthand! While he knew that he should be filled with terror at the unstoppable daedric forces, the nature of the conflict between them and his own people drew almost all of his attention.
Fast forward 200 years. He was exploring the Alik’r Desert, where the extreme heat of the day contrasted starkly with the extreme cold of the night. Until now, Maximilian Orzhov had been dedicating most of his waking hours in the pursuit of mastering opposing forces—practicing with both fire and frost magic, Restoration and Necromancy. Entirely alone, the Altmer succumbed to the environmental perils of the Alik’r...
An undeterminable amount of time passed before Maximilian awoke at the top of a mountain in the desert. It was night, yet the cold did not bother him too much. What’s more, the nighttime landscape did not seem as dark to him as it usually did.
After several minutes, the elf began to make his way down the mountain. At its base, he was attacked by a duneripper. Instinctually, Maximilian attempted to repel it with fire—but no fire came. The duneripper dug a gash in the elf’s leg before he could react. Putting some distance between himself and the savage reptile, Maximilian readied a frost spell—and it worked! He froze the duneripper solid and went on his way.
It wasn’t long before Maximilian discovered that he could only use fire magic during the day and frost magic during the night. This led him to pick his battles a bit more carefully, as well as to employ different tactics than he was used to.
As he wandered throughout Hammerfell, he heard rumors of a civil war raging in Skyrim. Needless to say, the conflict piqued his interest, so he set off in that direction. Though the Nords there did not care overmuch about Maximilian being an Altmer, he was able to use the skills his family taught him to establish a firm foothold in the capital city of Solitude.

Personality and Playstyle
Maximilian Orzhov is all about duality. As his backstory indicates, the spells he uses are at the mercy of the time of day—and it isn’t restricted to just fire and frost. During the day, he may only use spells that revolve around fire and light and life, including Sunlight spells, Turn Undead spells, and the light-based spells from “Spectraverse – Magic of the Magna-Ge”; conversely, during the night, he may only use spells that revolve around frost and darkness and death, including Reanimation spells and the darkness-based spells from “Spectraverse”. But for more neutral spells (such as pretty much all of Alteration), those have no restrictions; for the sake of not making the game too hard for myself, I’ve decided to give self-healing spells the same treatment: they can be used anytime. But this day-night distinction isn’t just for the spells, either: it extends to weapons as well, such as Dawnbreaker and Harkon’s Sword.
As for factions, the College of Winterhold is a no-brainer. However, given Maximilian’s background, he would also find himself at home in the Thieves Guild. The Dark Brotherhood is also an option, but if he joins them, he will join the Companions as well to balance the good/evil ratio. During the Dawnguard questline, he will stick with the Dawnguard, since vampires don’t do too well in the sun; to balance this out, he will go the darker route in the Spectraverse questline—that is, unless I deem that there are more “nighttime” spells than there are “daytime” spells in Maximilian’s potential arsenal.
As for general personality, Maximilian Orzhov is a bit more temperate than his arcane duality would suggest. But as the factions bit suggests, the elf isn’t the nicest fellow around—he is calculating all-around, and though he respects his established friends, he is often cold and aloof to everyone else.
Concerning Mr. Orzhov’s skills, he will focus on Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration, and Alteration—and perhaps Illusion as well, which will also be subject to the day/night distinction: Courage and Calm spells during the day; Frenzy, Fear, and (mod-added) Phantasm spells during the night. His magic will be supplemented with One Handed and Light Armor, as well as Speech so as to fit with his background.
